I wish to update you with news of the latest developments in our College restoration programme.
As you know, our summer term also marked the countdown to our 'TC Day of Giving'. This was an opportunity for Old Tettenhallians and Friends of the College to contribute to the work of preserving our historic buildings, particularly the Towers building.
The Towers building is currently undergoing an extensive restoration. Starting in September of 2023, the process of reroofing the entire building began in earnest as part of a phased programme. This has allowed rooms within the building which had been water damaged and rendered unusable over a number of years to be brought back into use, for the benefit of our current Tettenhallians.
The initiation of this project was made possible by generous funding of the reroofing phase. The purpose of the countdown to our 'Day of Giving' was to sustain this restoration by funding the repair of interior rooms, many of which require extensive renovation.
I am happy now to update you on the progress achieved to date. Currently, the funds raised following the 'Countdown to Giving' total £12,418.04 for the Towers restoration. A further £12,500 has been donated for the renovation of the swimming pool.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who have so generously supported these important projects. The aim of these initiatives is to preserve our heritage for the benefit of current and future Tettenhallians. The names of our generous donors have been added to our 'Giving Wall'.
Our programme of development for Towers and other projects is ongoing. If you would like to find out more about these projects, see our latest photographic and video updates on the Towers restoration project or if you wish to find out more about supporting ongoing projects please visit the College website -
