From Mrs Vicky McAllisterEarlier this year, we wrote to share our plans for a new Gym and Fitness Suite here at Tettenhall College and to ask for your support in delivering this facility for our pupils. I am delighted to write to you today with an update. Thanks to the very generous support of a small number of donors, this project has become a reality!Over the summer, work has taken place to install the new Gym and Fitness Suite in what was previously the KS3 Common Room. The gym contains brand new cardio equipment, resistance machines and also a weights area, offering a comprehensive facility which we know will be very well used. The location of the gym, just adjacent to our Sports Hall and Squash courts, allows us to have a joined-up space and a focal point for fitness, strength and conditioning as part of our wider sports programme. Please find attached some images of the finished Gym.A new common room has also been developed over the summer break, which gives our Year 7 & 8 pupils their own space, with Year 9 & 10 sharing, Year 11 in their own space, and the College Coffee Shop now a dedicated place for our Sixth Formers, as well as their Study Centre and Sixth Form Common Room. More work will continue to develop and enhance these spaces over the coming weeks and months.I would like to extend my enormous thanks to those who so warmly and generously supported this project and to our in-house maintenance team, led by Mr Paul Tristram, who did the work to deliver this so quickly.
